Yesterday was the evening for local Reno bowler Luciano Ventura with 1415 pins.
His total score of 2694 took him into a provisional 7th place and will be sufficient for the Sunday finals.
Meanwhile Herman Wimmer/G. and Chris van Damme played their first block of 6-games and shot 1338 and 1335 respectively for a comfortable start for their 2nd block of 6-games.
The cut for #24 is expected to be around 2600 with the men’s division.

3rd DAY
Day 3 of the qualification round was a kind of Swedish invasion.
After welcoming Christer Danielson, Claes Gauffin and Ulf Lönngren all from Sweden they registered for the 18:00 squad for their 1st block of 6-games
Together with 2009 Malta Open winner Rosario Bellomonte/It. they battled for squad winner.
After rain clouds of strikes and spares the squad winner by far turned out to be Ulf Lönngren/Sw with an unbelievable scratch 6-game 1st block score of 206 / 278 / 276 / 259 / 228 / 280 = 1527 (254,5 avrg). Followed by Christer Danielson/Sw 1454 and Rosario Bellomonte/It with 1332
Meanwhile Charley Blom/Nl completed his 2x6-game qualification, scoring 1330 and 1362 = 2692 pins to capture the provisional 4th place as the first non native Italian participant for the Tuesday-Thursday qualification round, top 6 players qualify for the finals for Sunday.
Farida Pascoal/Nl finished her 2x6 game qualification totaling 2268 pins settling for 2nd place in the ladies division and qualified for the finals on Sunday as well.
Taking in account the results so far it will be very crowded in the top 10 in the men’s division.

2nd DAY
After settling down of the dust clouds on Day 2 some pretty heavy scoring was accomplished by various top Italian male bowlers.
Aurelio Briganti scored 1287 in his second block of 6-games totaling 2670 for 3rd place.
Sergio Fabietto noted a 1422 in his 2nd block and 1382 in the 1st block of 6-game totaling 2804 for 2nd place.
But ‘Steady Eddy’ Roberto Primavera took the lead for day 2 by 54 pins with two 6-game blocks of 1430 and 1428 totaling 2858 (!) making it an one man show for the watching crowd.
With three days of qualification rounds to go this edition of the Italy Senior Open will be for sure the highest scoring tournament compared with the two previous editions, according satisfied Gabriele Benvenuti owner/operator of the Reno Bowl.
In the ladies division Hildegard Kuhn/It. took the provisional first place with her 2x6-games of qualification with 1277 and 1174 pins totaling for 2451 pins.
2nd place with a total of 2106 by Gabrielle Saccani/It.
And 3rd place so far was occupied by Doris di Muro/It with 2093 pins.
No doubt the standings for the ladies will change as more ladies will compete towards the weekend.

1st DAY
The kick-off of the third edition of the Italy Senior Open took place in the brand new, spacious 24-lane Reno Bowl in Bologna/Italy of Gabriele Benvenuti.
The pace was set by local 69 year old Aurelio Briganti (right picture) with 1385 pins over his first block of 6-games followed at a modest distance by Charley Blom from The Netherlands with his first block of 1330 pins in second place.
Provisionally 1st place is Gabriele Benvunuti/It ( left picture) with a 12-game total of 2504 followed by Luciano Lambertini from Italy in 2nd (2397 pins) and Ennio Giroldini from Italy in 3rd place (2300 pins) who completed their 2x6 games qualification.
In the ladies division competed only two ladies sofar and is led by Gabriella Saccani from Italy by 1017 pins.
The opening scores of the tournament promises high results throughout the qualification round and the finals.
All tournaments connected with the ISBT Tour are conducted by separate Men and Women divisions and price money.
